Pruning, shaping, removal

Pruning with a plan for the cut.

Shearing everything into a green meatball is fast, and it is why so many hedges are dense on the outside and hollow within. Good pruning removes specific branches for specific reasons: light into the middle, a shape that holds, and cuts placed where the plant can actually heal them.

What you are actually paying for.

01

Hedges with a face and a top

Slightly narrower at the top than the base, so the lower branches get light and the hedge stays clothed to the ground instead of going leggy underneath.

02

Ornamental and topiary shaping

Spirals, tiers and formal shapes — the pieces in our gallery are ours, maintained over years. Shapes like that are not a single trim, they are a relationship with the plant.

03

Timed to the plant

Spring-flowering shrubs pruned after they bloom, or you cut off next year’s flowers. Most structural pruning happens in the dormant season, when you can see the frame.

04

Removal and clean haul-out

Trees and shrubs taken down, brush loaded out, and the site raked clean. We do not leave a pile for you to deal with.

One call covers the property.

Most of our customers book two or three of these together — it is cheaper than separate visits and it all gets done the same day.

Good to know

Tree & Shrub Care — your questions.

When should trees and shrubs be pruned?

Late dormant season — late winter into early spring — for most structural work, because the frame is visible and the plant heals fast heading into growth. Spring bloomers like lilac get pruned right after flowering instead.

Do you take down large trees?

We handle trimming and removal within the reach of ground-based equipment, and we haul the brush. A large trunk close to a house or a power line is climbing-and-rigging work — if that is what a job needs, we will say so rather than take a risk on your property.

Can you fix a hedge that is bare at the bottom?

Often, over a couple of seasons — by reducing the top, narrowing the profile so light reaches the lower branches, and being patient. It is a recovery plan, not a single visit.

Try it risk free

A 100% satisfaction money-back guarantee.

It is the promise Robert Diaz has made since 2016, and we have kept it on the site word for word: if you are not completely happy with the work, we will make it right or you get your money back. There is no version of this where you are stuck with a lawn you are unhappy about.
